3 KILLED, HOUSES BURNT OVER UMUNEDE/AKUMAZI BOUNDARY DISPUTE
Three persons were confirmed dead, many sustained severe injuries and houses burnt in the renewed boundary crisis between Umunede and Akumazi kingdom in Ika North East Local Government of Delta State. The people of the area while lamenting over the crisis appealed to the state government to quickly intervene and stop the boundary crisis between the two communities, which according to them had claimed so many lives and loss of properties. A community leader who spoke with newsmen on the condition of anonymity stated that the renewed boundary crisis started July 1, 2015 and that they were now living in fear. He revealed that politicians in the two communities were the ones sponsoring the renewed boundary crisis which he said was once settled many years ago.
