OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR OKOWA


My dear Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, this is an open letter to remind you of your promise to the people of Ika South. 
 Your excellency, you are a man of courage and resilience. You are a man of great faith, enviable impacts and of flawless reputation. As Senator in the 7th Assembly, you were ranked among the best Senators for sponsoring ten (10) bills, including the National Health Bill, a feat many acknowledged as ingenious, legendary and laudable despite your short stint in the red chambers.
ln two years in office as governor, you have commissioned several landmark projects dotted across the three Senatorial Districts of the state which have become a template and a reference point for most of the states today.
Ekwueme! (One who does what he says he will do) is your traditional title. 
 Your excellency sir, do you remember the promise you made in 2015 at a joint meeting of both Ika South and Ika North East, at the Ika National Hall, where you promised us that Ika south and Ika north east will respectively have equity and fairness in terms of representation in the Federal House of representatives? Ekweme you told us that the seat would be rotational.

1999 -2003 it was Hon. Nduka Irabor from Ika North East.
2003 -2007 it was Dr. Cairo Ojougboh from Ika South.
2007-2011 it was Hon. Doris Uboh from Ika South.
2011-2015 Hon. Victor Nwokolo From Ika North East.
2015-2019 again Hon. Nwokolo from Ika North East.

2019 - 2023 ????

Your excellency please do not forget that same promise of fairness and equity which you made in 2015 at Ika National Hall. If your excellency will keep your promise, It is the rightful turn of Ika south to go to the House of Representatives come 2019. Your name is Ekweme let your word be your bond.

Resumption Date For Primary And Secondary Schools In Delta State

  It is hereby announced for the information of the General Public, particularly Deltans that the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has fixed Sunday, September 10, 2017, as the resumption date for pupils and students in public and private Primary and Secondary schools in the State for the 2017/2018 Academic Section. Academic activities begin on Monday September 11, 2017. Accordingly, the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has by this announcement advised parents and guardians to ensure that pupils and students return to school on the said date. It is stressed that students in boarding schools must return to school on Sunday September 10, 2017 as normal class activities will commence the next day. RIP KIDNAPPED DPO. HE FOUGHT FOR SECURITY OF LIVES AND PROPERTIES OF NIGERIANS. A CREDIT TO HUMANITY

ASABA THE Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of the ‘C’ Division, Asaba, SP Valentine Mbalu has been reportedly killed by his abductors 12 days after he was taken hostage by suspected Fulani herdsmen between Ekwoma and Umunede along the Benin/Asaba/Onitsha expressway. Recall that the unsuspecting Police Officer was abducted at about 4pm on the 5th of this month on his way to Asaba after spending weekend with his family at Agbor. A reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the decomposing corpse of the DPO was found in Umunede bush yesterday. He disclosed that one of the suspected kidnappers, a native of Fulani who sells water Mellon at Abraka within the Asaba metropolis has been arrested. It would be recalled that the decomposing body of the king of Ubulu-Uku, HRM Edward Akaeze Ofulue III who was kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen sometimes in January 2016 was also found in Umunede bush days after his abduction.
