  LANDLORD SEALS DELTA MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE .

 The headquarters of the Delta state ministry of Agriculture, has been sealed following the state government's inability to pay the rent arrears of two years. Speaking to FLAGNEWS correspondent in Asaba, a staff in the ministry who pleaded anonymity said " the state government has been owing the landlord for two years and the landlord has come to lock up our office. We have been resting at home for over two weeks now and I don't know why the state government did not pay the rent for two years" he also described it as intimidation and injustice. " the last time the landlord locked up the place as a warning, our people broke it and we entered but that intimidation and injustice". He said. When FLAGNEWS NIGERIA visited the ministry, it was indeed under lock and key. All attempts to reach the commissioner to get his view, proved abortive.

Resumption Date For Primary And Secondary Schools In Delta State

  It is hereby announced for the information of the General Public, particularly Deltans that the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has fixed Sunday, September 10, 2017, as the resumption date for pupils and students in public and private Primary and Secondary schools in the State for the 2017/2018 Academic Section. Academic activities begin on Monday September 11, 2017. Accordingly, the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has by this announcement advised parents and guardians to ensure that pupils and students return to school on the said date. It is stressed that students in boarding schools must return to school on Sunday September 10, 2017 as normal class activities will commence the next day. ASABA THE Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of the ‘C’ Division, Asaba, SP Valentine Mbalu has been reportedly killed by his abductors 12 days after he was taken hostage by suspected Fulani herdsmen between Ekwoma and Umunede along the Benin/Asaba/Onitsha expressway. Recall that the unsuspecting Police Officer was abducted at about 4pm on the 5th of this month on his way to Asaba after spending weekend with his family at Agbor. A reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the decomposing corpse of the DPO was found in Umunede bush yesterday. He disclosed that one of the suspected kidnappers, a native of Fulani who sells water Mellon at Abraka within the Asaba metropolis has been arrested. It would be recalled that the decomposing body of the king of Ubulu-Uku, HRM Edward Akaeze Ofulue III who was kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen sometimes in January 2016 was also found in Umunede bush days after his abduction.
