PROTEST: PAY US OUR PENSION, RETIREES TELL OKOWA.





The Association of Contributory Retirees ACR, has protested against the non payment of their pensions and gratuities by the Delta state government.
  The members of the ACR, which cut across the 25 local government areas of Delta state, protested from the Labour House to the government House Asaba.
They said they have not received pensions and gratuity since 2011, adding that many of their members have died because of inability to feed themselves.
 " Uduahan signed our payment request, but Okowa has been setting up committees upon committees and has refused to pay us. We are dying of hunger, many of our members have been buried, our children can no longer go back to school. So we are saying today that Okowa should pay us our money".
 FLAGNEWS NIGERIA learnt that immediately governor Okowa got the information that a protest was going on, he sent for delegates among the members to come for dialogue.

Resumption Date For Primary And Secondary Schools In Delta State

  It is hereby announced for the information of the General Public, particularly Deltans that the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has fixed Sunday, September 10, 2017, as the resumption date for pupils and students in public and private Primary and Secondary schools in the State for the 2017/2018 Academic Section. Academic activities begin on Monday September 11, 2017. Accordingly, the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has by this announcement advised parents and guardians to ensure that pupils and students return to school on the said date. It is stressed that students in boarding schools must return to school on Sunday September 10, 2017 as normal class activities will commence the next day. RIP KIDNAPPED DPO. HE FOUGHT FOR SECURITY OF LIVES AND PROPERTIES OF NIGERIANS. A CREDIT TO HUMANITY

ASABA THE Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of the ‘C’ Division, Asaba, SP Valentine Mbalu has been reportedly killed by his abductors 12 days after he was taken hostage by suspected Fulani herdsmen between Ekwoma and Umunede along the Benin/Asaba/Onitsha expressway. Recall that the unsuspecting Police Officer was abducted at about 4pm on the 5th of this month on his way to Asaba after spending weekend with his family at Agbor. A reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the decomposing corpse of the DPO was found in Umunede bush yesterday. He disclosed that one of the suspected kidnappers, a native of Fulani who sells water Mellon at Abraka within the Asaba metropolis has been arrested. It would be recalled that the decomposing body of the king of Ubulu-Uku, HRM Edward Akaeze Ofulue III who was kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen sometimes in January 2016 was also found in Umunede bush days after his abduction.
