UDUAGHAN BATTLES OKOWA OVER EJELE'S SENATORIAL AMBITION

The battle line has been drawn, between Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa and immediate past Delta State governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, following the alleged resolve of Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa to dislodge the immediate past governor and mandating the House member representing Warri North local government at the Delta State House of Assembly, Michael Diden (Ejele) to run against Emmanuel Uduaghan for Delta South Senatorial seat.
Dependable sources confided on our Warri correspondent that Michael Diden was said to be battle ready with the former governor, averred that he had perfected plans to run for the senatorial seat, haven got green light from the incumbent Delta State governor.
It was gathered that the mutual relationship between the duo was said to be heading for divorce as credible source confirmed that Diden last week confronted his Itsekeri brother and boss, Emmanuel Uduaghan of his resolved to run for the senatorial seat, a development that shocked the former governor to his bone.
Worried by the development, Emmanuel Uduaghan allegedly invited the Delta lawmaker to his Warri residence, where he pleaded with him to drop his senatorial ambition, but all effort to persuade the lawmaker were all to no avail; just as a close aid to the lawmaker hinted that his boss (Diden) cannot betray his boss, Ifeanyi Okowa, who is very much interested on the development.
A credible source who Diden has penciled to be the Director-General of his campaign organization pleaded not to be on print confirmed the development, stressed that Mr. Diden resolved to run for the senatorial seat was a mandate from Okowa, who was said to be wary of Emmanuel Udaughan and his boys in the State, has allegedly settled for Ejele for the Senatorial seat.
Sources from Delta government house told our correspondent in confidence that Gov. Okowa was not comfortable with Emmanuel Uduaghan, hence the need to project his helmsman from the axis to dislodge the immediate past governor, a development credible sources says was a plan to set the Uduaghan parking from politics in the State.
The source further posited that Gov. Okowa as part of resolved, appointed the lawmaker’s wife as member of DISEC and has also mandated the People Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Kingsley Esiso to allow all Michael Diden candidates from Delta South have their way in the forthcoming Local Government election, so as sweep Uduaghan off.
A top source of the People Democratic Party, PDP who spoke to our correspondent in Asaba noted that it would take the intervention of Chief James Ibori to save Uduaghan from the mess; Okowa is planning for him, just as he averred that the governor has ordered lawmakers and political appointees from the district to deliver Michael Diden.
Investigation by our correspondents revealed that the incumbent Senator representing the district who is from the Ijaw nation, James Manger may likely seek re-election, Emmanuel Uduaghan from Itsekeri nation has been nursing the position since 2014, but was intimidated then, which made him to drop his ambition, has said to have perfected arrangement to wrestled the position from James Manager come 2019.
It was also gathered that the Minority leader, House of Representatives, Leonard Ogor would also join the race, as sources say that Mr. Leonard Ogor is currently consulting Party leaders from the senatorial district.
Further investigation revealed that Mr. Michael Diden has been acting the script of his new boss (Okowa) dumping his Itsekeri brother and boss, Udauaghan, was said to be the main helmsman for Mr. Monday Igbuya impeachment and installed Sherrif Oborewori; noted that Diden (Ejele) was instrumental to the emergence of the State Party Chairman, Kingsley Esiso, dislodging Mr. Igbuya political tent in Sapele.
