COUNCIL POLLS: DESIEC SCREENS AND QUALIFIES ALAN K.

The PDP chairmanship candidate for Ika North East Barr. Victor Ebonka (ALAN K), has commended the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission DESIEC, for its diligence in the screening of candidates for the forthcoming Council elections.


 Ebonka stated this shortly after him and his deputy Mrs. Colina Anazia were screened and certified by the DESIEC, eligible to contest in the forthcoming Local Government Council polls. He affirmed that the screening exercise was free and fair while expressing confidence in the PDP to win the forthcoming elections at all levels based on their preparedness.
 The Chairmanship hopeful described the screening exercise as thorough and remarkable.
  Earlier, the chairman of the screening committte for the DESIEC, Engr. James Umukoro, while addressing the candidates in the DESIEC secretariat Asaba, stated that the screening exercise of candidates for the forthcoming council elections would be free and fair for all.
 He assured the candidates that the forthcoming election would be credible disclosing that strategies have been put in place to ensure a level playing field irrespective of the persons involved.
The chairman said the purpose of the screening was to verify the authenticity of candidate's documents stressing that the screening commissioners would ensure diligence. He further urged the candidates not to be violent but to be peaceful and orderly especially during the campaign period.
 Those present at the screening exercise included the Ika south PDP chairmanship candidate, Barr. Victor Okoh and his Burutu counterpart Mr. Godknows Angele, among others.
