2019 GUBER: DELTA APC SAYS NO ZONING

The All Progressives Congress APC, has refuted media publications that the party in Delta state, had zoned the governorship ticket to Delta North Senatorial District.
 In a statement signed by the state  APC chairman, prophet Jones Ode Erue, the party stated that it had not zoned the governorship ticket to any zone and had no intention to do so.
 The party assured its members and the electorate of their commitment to the party's constitution in the choice of all candidates adding that its primaries would be free, fair and credible.
"The APC in Delta state has made tremendous progress towards building a united and formidable front in recent times. We are determined to sustain our good successes as we match towards 2019 to defeat the PDP in Delta for its unprecedented bad governance that has made Delta a laughing stock everywhere.
 It must be noted that we are not running this party on a zonal basis but as a united party with a common objective of salvaging Delta state from several years of PDP misrule. On behalf of the state executive of our great party and all our leaders, I humbly ask our members to continue with confidence-building measures across the length and breadth of Delta state. 'The more harmony, the better' " the statement added.

Resumption Date For Primary And Secondary Schools In Delta State

  It is hereby announced for the information of the General Public, particularly Deltans that the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has fixed Sunday, September 10, 2017, as the resumption date for pupils and students in public and private Primary and Secondary schools in the State for the 2017/2018 Academic Section. Academic activities begin on Monday September 11, 2017. Accordingly, the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has by this announcement advised parents and guardians to ensure that pupils and students return to school on the said date. It is stressed that students in boarding schools must return to school on Sunday September 10, 2017 as normal class activities will commence the next day. RIP KIDNAPPED DPO. HE FOUGHT FOR SECURITY OF LIVES AND PROPERTIES OF NIGERIANS. A CREDIT TO HUMANITY

ASABA THE Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of the ‘C’ Division, Asaba, SP Valentine Mbalu has been reportedly killed by his abductors 12 days after he was taken hostage by suspected Fulani herdsmen between Ekwoma and Umunede along the Benin/Asaba/Onitsha expressway. Recall that the unsuspecting Police Officer was abducted at about 4pm on the 5th of this month on his way to Asaba after spending weekend with his family at Agbor. A reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the decomposing corpse of the DPO was found in Umunede bush yesterday. He disclosed that one of the suspected kidnappers, a native of Fulani who sells water Mellon at Abraka within the Asaba metropolis has been arrested. It would be recalled that the decomposing body of the king of Ubulu-Uku, HRM Edward Akaeze Ofulue III who was kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen sometimes in January 2016 was also found in Umunede bush days after his abduction.
