Dr. CAIRO OJOUGBOH IS LIKE A FATHER TO ME - OFUME

The Ika South Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Fred Ofume has stated that the PDP Deputy National Chairman in the defunct Sheriff's faction, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, was like a father to him who contributed immensely in making him the Council Chairman of Ika South. The Ika South Council boss stated this in his office at Agbor, while briefing newsmen on his achievements in the past three years that he has been in office. He said,
 " Apart from God, the person who contributed immensely to my becoming the chairman of Ika South Local Government Council, is Hon. Dr. Cairo Ojougboh and we are still very cordial. God used him to bring me to political  limelight and of course Dr. Cairo expects me to keep the light shinning. How I keep the light shinning behoves on me as an adult. We are from the same village and as a matter of fact, he is my relation and he has been like a father to my family.
Immediately after the 2015 election, Dr. Cairo called me and Hon. Isaac Ulebor in the presence of mama (his mother) told us that henceforth we are governor Okowa's children that Senator Dr. A. I. Okowa is the leader of the party in the state and that we should  fuse into his political family. I also visited Government House with Dr. Cairo where we met my Governor Senator Dr. Okowa and told him that he Dr Cairo has handed us to him as his children. So my relationship with Dr. Cairo is very cordial. But as a politician now, I should understand my role as a student in Okowa's Political Institute".

Ofume also used the opportunity to commend the governor for his SMART agenda and urged all Detans to support the Okowa's administration.

Resumption Date For Primary And Secondary Schools In Delta State

  It is hereby announced for the information of the General Public, particularly Deltans that the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has fixed Sunday, September 10, 2017, as the resumption date for pupils and students in public and private Primary and Secondary schools in the State for the 2017/2018 Academic Section. Academic activities begin on Monday September 11, 2017. Accordingly, the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has by this announcement advised parents and guardians to ensure that pupils and students return to school on the said date. It is stressed that students in boarding schools must return to school on Sunday September 10, 2017 as normal class activities will commence the next day. RIP KIDNAPPED DPO. HE FOUGHT FOR SECURITY OF LIVES AND PROPERTIES OF NIGERIANS. A CREDIT TO HUMANITY

ASABA THE Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of the ‘C’ Division, Asaba, SP Valentine Mbalu has been reportedly killed by his abductors 12 days after he was taken hostage by suspected Fulani herdsmen between Ekwoma and Umunede along the Benin/Asaba/Onitsha expressway. Recall that the unsuspecting Police Officer was abducted at about 4pm on the 5th of this month on his way to Asaba after spending weekend with his family at Agbor. A reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the decomposing corpse of the DPO was found in Umunede bush yesterday. He disclosed that one of the suspected kidnappers, a native of Fulani who sells water Mellon at Abraka within the Asaba metropolis has been arrested. It would be recalled that the decomposing body of the king of Ubulu-Uku, HRM Edward Akaeze Ofulue III who was kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen sometimes in January 2016 was also found in Umunede bush days after his abduction.
