SHOLA DAIBO'S SEAT MAY BE DECLARED VACANT SOON - ACCORD PARTY.

ASABA.

It is no longer news that the member representing Warri south constituency in the Delta state House of Assembly, Princess Shola Daibo has defected from the ACCORD party to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
However, there are issues surrounding her defection which if not properly handled, she could feirfet her position. Based on this, FLAGNEWS NIGERIA had an exclusive interview with the state chairman of the ACCORD party, Comr. David Ashikodi.

Excerpts:

"The truth of the matter is that Shola Daibo did not behave well because she acted with impunity. She has done her part and the Accord party is also preparing to do its part. The party will write to INEC and it is the court that will declare the seat vacant according to the electoral law.
If you know the role I played for her before she emerges winner, I was the one who went to Abuja to pick her form, I later relocated to Warri south and led her campaign. Apart from the fact that i am the Accord party chairman in Delta state, because of the role i played, don't you think if this woman had any course to decamp to another party, courtesy demands that she should notify me?
The truth is that the electoral law does not permit such defection unless there is crisis at the national level of the party you are defecting from. So she has violated the electoral law and if the party decides to pick her on that, what the law says is that she would forfeit that position and the position would be declared vacant. So I was thinking that someone who is a lawmaker should be abreast with the law.
So for you to decamp without crisis in the party, you need to establish good relationship with the party asking them to cooperate with you but in this case Shola Daibo acted with impunity. This issue almost caused problem between me and the national because they felt I knew about her defection and I didn't inform them but it was through the media that I learnt of her defection. Is it suppose to be like that?
So the National is not taking it likely that they see it as insult and they have asked me to write to them about the situation.
So Shola Daibo did not behave well. Intelligence demands that if you want to go against the law, you have to perfect everything so that people will not raise eyebrows and the way it is now, if the party picks her up, she will lose that position because right now, she can't create crisis in the party when there was none".
