PDP FLAGS OFF LOCAL GOVT CAMPAIGN IN IKA, PRESENTS FLAG TO EBONKA, OKOH.

In preparation for the forth-coming Local Government Elections, the Peoples Democratic Party, Delta State,  yesterday flagged off the campaigns in Ika South and Ika North East, respectively.

The first port of call was the Ika South Local Government Area, where the Governor of Delta state, Ifeanyi Okowa in his brief speech, said that the flag off was simply a step taken to affirm that PDP is a religion in Delta State, adding that the Party would continue to produce candidates who will uphold the philosophy and belief of the Party in people-centered leadership in every election in Delta State.


Governor Okowa maintained that, members of the party at all levels were going to work together so as to ensure  total victory for the PDP in the forth coming local government election as well as the 2019 general elections.





At Ika south, governor Okowa  commended the people for the massive turn out and preparations, describing it as heartwarming and oneness. Okowa also expressed happiness that women were featured in the council as Vice and Councillors assuring that more women would be given opportunities in time to come. The party leader promised the people that in 2018 more dividends would be extended to the area.
 He commended the clergies, the youth and women for their solidarities. The governor used the medium to disclose that Delta state, would remain united even in the face of critics. He said he had no more fear in 2019 based on the support he got from the people of Ika south.

Governor Okowa did not fail to address critics in the opposition party. His words: "Unfortunately one of our brothers lied about budget. People thought i will be angry but instead of me to get angry I was ashamed of him because he didn't learn about budget even while he was in a place where he was supposed to know about budget" The governor later prayed for the Local government, the state and the country at large after which, the state party chairman Olorogun Barr. Kingsley Esiso, after a brief remark on the party's supremacy and conduct, handed the party's flag over to the chairmanship candidate Barr. Victor Ebonka and his deputy, Mrs. Patience Agbomah. The Councillors representing all the Wards were also introduced.
 Similarly, The party hierarchy  proceeded to the governor's local government, Ika North East,  to present the party's flag to the chairmanship candidate, Barr. Victor Ebonka, popularly known as ALAN K.

 The seat of government was obviously moved to Ika North East, as the presence of the top government functionaries including the state council of traditional rulers, was conspicuously felt in solidarity with Ebonka.






 Governor Okowa in his brief remark, expressed confidence that the party would win the forthcoming elections at all levels. He eulogized the people for their orderliness and massive turn out. Okowa scored Ebonka high, before his people and urged them to continue to throw their weights behind the party's candidates at all levels.
 In the same vein, Esiso handed over the flag to Barr. Ebonka and his deputy Mrs. Colina Anazia. They both hoisted the flag around the vicinity to the admiration of their numerous supporters so that one can easily sense an atmosphere of excitement, zealousness and agility amidst cheers from supporters and party faithful.
 In a separate interview with FLAGNEWS NIGERIA, Ebonka and Okoh expressed joy and confidence that they would win their elections come January 6th 2018. They appreciated the governor, the party's state chairman and their supporters. The chairmanship candidates further called on the people to pray for them and give them support as they begin the Ward to Ward campaigns.


 The event recorded a huge success and dignitaries present included, Federal lawmakers, state lawmakers led by the Speaker of the Delta state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, The Delta state Council of traditional rulers led by the Obi of Owa kingdom, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor,  the father to the state governor Pa Arthur Okowa, past and serving commissioners, chairmanship candidates from other LGAs, family and friends, among others. A top musician in the entertainment industry, Joe Morgan, thrilled the crowd with his highlife music.
