C'ttee Releases Activities To Mark Obi Of Owa 80TH Birthday

By Victor Efeizomor. Come the 10th of March 2018, His Royal Majesty,   Obi (Dr.) Emmanuel O. Efeizomor 11, the Obi of Owa Kingdom, will be 80 years old. Turning 80, no doubt, is something to be   celebrated. This prompted, the Obi- in–council  a fortnight  ago, in Owa Royal Palace, to inaugurate a 10 man   planning committee, Chaired by Chief Nkenchor Okwuokenye, the Inneh of Owa land  while   Barrister Raymond  Isitor is the secretary. In a Statement signed by the Chairman,  Planning Committee, Chief Inneh, said activities to commemorate the 80 years anniversary celebration of His Royal Majesty,   Obi (Dr.) Emmanuel O. Possible apprehension was alleged to be gripping the lawmaker representing Aniocha North constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Engr Emeka Nwobi, following news of other prospective aspirants jostling to unseat him in the forth coming Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries later in the year. Emeka Nwobi, who was alleged to have stolen the mandate legitimately won by  Uzoma Idabor (aka UZ), in the PDP primaries of 2014, is so tensed and agitated over the looming realization that he would be defeated in his bid for a second term, following the revelation of what he did to UZ as well as his poor performance in the House as Lawmaker. Agbor Monarch Unleashes Royal Rain On Assembly Hopeful

The Dein of Agbor kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Benjamin Ikenchukwu Keagborekuzi 1, has given Amb Paul Alika, a Delta House of Assembly aspirant for the Ika South constituency, a royal blessings and a complimentary title to the father Prof. Alika, in his palace at Agbor.  According to the king, the Assembly aspirant had done remarkably well for the kingdom and his community in particular, and as such, he deserved to be given the mandate to represent the good people of Ika south, in the state House of Assembly.  The Dein of Agbor commended the parents Prof and Prof (Mrs.) Alika, for the good upbringing given to their son,  Amb Paul Alika. 2019 GUBER: DELTA APC SAYS NO ZONING

The All Progressives Congress APC, has refuted media publications that the party in Delta state, had zoned the governorship ticket to Delta North Senatorial District.  In a statement signed by the state  APC chairman, prophet Jones Ode Erue, the party stated that it had not zoned the governorship ticket to any zone and had no intention to do so.  The party assured its members and the electorate of their commitment to the party's constitution in the choice of all candidates adding that its primaries would be free, fair and credible. DELTA NORTH APC PASSES CONFIDENCE VOTE ON BUHARI

Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta north senatorial district, have unanimously passed a vote of confidence on President Muhammadu Buhari while urging him to seek reelection in 2019.  In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting of expanded caucus of Delta North APC at Onicha Ugbo in Aniocha North LGA, the APC also describes the administration of governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, as abysmal failure. The communiqué, which was signed by Engr. Enuha, commended the national leadership of the APC adding that the party had come out strongly to support restructuring and state police which according to them, was laudable for a ruling party in an African set up. The caucus also observed among other things, that from the inception of the present democratic system in Nigeria, the Delta central and south had produced the governor of Delta state and completed terms of two tenure each, hence it was fair and equitable for the Delta north to complete its second term...

South Africa’s President, Jacob Zuma, has resigned from office with immediate effect. The BBC reports that Zuma made the announcement in a televised address to the nation on Wednesday evening. Earlier, Mr Zuma’s governing ANC party told him to resign or face a vote of no confidence in parliament on Thursday. Zuma has been in power since 2009, but his administration has been riddled with many allegations of corruption. On Tuesday, Ace Magashule, ANC’s secretary-general, told journalists that the national executive committee (NEC) decided that the removal should be “treated with urgency”. “It is obvious we want Comrade Ramaphosa to come in as the president of South Africa,” he said. The 75-year-old embattled african leader had been under increasing pressure to give way to Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, the ANC’s new leader. PDP ANIOCHA NORTH PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON OKOWA, OTHERS

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in Aniocha North Local Government Area has passed a vote of confidence on Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa and the Delta state PDP hierarchy.  In a statement signed by the executive of the PDP Aniocha North, the vote of confidence was moved In an enlarged meeting of the PDP Members and Local Government Executive at the Aniocha North Local Government Area Secretariat Issele-Uku Delta State on 13th February, 2018.   Also passed, was a vote of confidence on Barr.
