HEALTHIER 2018: DAME OKOWA FLAGS OFF FREE MEDICAL MISSION

OGWASHI UKU.

The wife of the Delta state governor and founder "05 Initiative",   Dame Edith Okowa, has flagged off the Free Medical outreach tagged Healthier 2018, with a call on sinners to repent from their sins, look up to God and sin no more.

Okowa made the call at the Ogwashi Uku prisons, while flagging off the Free Medical Outreach organized by the Dr. Isioma Okobah Foundation in partnership with the 05 Initiative and Atlanta Medical Students Make a Difference tagged " HEALTHIER 2018".
Making reference to the holy bible, the governor's wife stated that all have sinned and gone short of the glory of God. She specifically quoted the book of the II Corinthians 7:9-10, and encouraged the prison inmates to practice Godly sorrow as against the worldly sorrow, which according to her, was true repentance without going back to sin.
While still emphasising the need to praise God at all times, Dame Okowa also observed that some of the prison inmates were in prison for no fault of theirs and warned against ungodly company. The governor's wife noted that everyone had sinned but of different forms stressing the necessity of true repentance after such sin.

The governor's wife reiterated that life was all about service to God and commended the Dr. Isioma Okobah Foundation disclosing that she had declined several partnership bid from other organizations as there was no directive from God adding that she accepted to partner with the Dr. Isioma Okobah Foundation because there was directive from God following her diligent works in the vineyard of the lord.

"The O5 team gladly accepted to collaborate with the Isioma Okobah Foundation because their program is in line with the mission of the O5 Initiative which include: feeding the hungry, Caring for the sick, Providing Shelter for the Homeless, Clothing the naked and Visiting the Prisoners.  The prison environment is not strange to us. The O5 team have regularly visited the inmates, we have provided pipe borne water, quarterly provision of drugs, provisions of sanitary and social amenities and payment of option of fine for those who were granted freedom. This is our ministry and we are grateful to God for the collaboration.
Let me assure all the beneficiaries that by the reason of this medical outreach your health will be restored. I am certain that the doctors will give the best of attention, and I urge you to follow the prescriptions."

She also commended the Medical Students Make a Difference all the way from Atlanta Georgia, who paid their ticket themselves, leaving their comfort zones just to worship God in Nigeria. She described their gesture as genuine service and prayed that God should intervene in their situations.

" I also thank the student Doctors from the United States of America USA, for giving their time to humanitarian service, God bless you. Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, I encourage you to take a cue from today’s event, do not shy away from the duties assigned to you by God; you too can rekindle the hope of the poor. Let us emulate this kind gesture, as we join forces to change our world one person at a time.
It is now my honour and privilege to flag off the Free Health Care to the glory of God."

In an Interview with FLAGNEWS NIGERIA, Dr. Isioma Okobah remarked thus" I was driven into this  service for humanity based on scriptural injunctions just like her Excellency rightly stated from the book of Matt 25:35-36, and my experience so far has been very wonderful and encouraging."
Dr.Okobah commended the wife of the governor for the good works she had been doing and expressed her profound gratitude to the students as well.

" Her Excellency has been very supportive and she is a wonderful woman. Like i said earlier, to me this is more like a ministry and its a calling. Initially wen I started this, it was a direction from the holy spirit. Most of the students here have never left America but they are here now in Ogwashi Uku, haven sponsored their trip down all the way from Atlanta. I really want to appreciate them for their service and as you can see, they are all young boys and girls"

The Highlight of the official flag off ceremony of the Healthier 2018, was the presentation of drugs to be shared for all prisons in Delta state and also the administration of treatment to the inmates by her Excellency, Dame Okowa, the commissioner for health Delta state Dr. Nicholas Azinge, Dr. Isioma Okobah and the Medical Students from Atlanta.
