PRESIDENT BUHARI ORDERS MORE MONEY TO STATES BEFORE CHRISTMAS

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed his key finance officers to sit down with representatives of Nigeria Governors Forum to determine how much of their unpaid debts can be released to them before Christmas. Responding to pleas by the governors who came to the State House on Monday under the leadership of Abdul-Aziz Yari, the Chairman of the Forum asking that the President give a commitment to pay all outstanding debts owed them from London and Paris Club deductions to ease their financial hardships, President Buhari said he was not averse to the payments so long as the treasury can afford it and the economy will not be destabilised. The Governors informed the President that they wanted his commitment on this repayment so that they could factor the money into their 2018 appropriation plans. COURT ORDERS RESTORATION OF ANIOCHA NORTH CONSTITUENCY II

The Appeal Court sitting in Benin City, the Edo State capital has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to restore forthwith the Aniocha North Constituency II, in Delta State and conduct election within three months in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State to henceforth elect member to represent Aniocha North Constituency II in the State House of Assembly.  In a unanimous judgment read by Justice M.A.A Adumein, the Appeal Court said the judgment of the Federal High Court, Asaba, erred in law when it declared a case startle bar, and therefore upheld the claim by the appellants, Mssrs. Akiah Humphrey, Emma Ebo and Sunday Okenyi.  The appellants represented by Mr Habeeb Lawal, had complained that INEC ought not to have suppressed Aniocha North Constituency II which was created by the National Electoral Commission in 1991 and which was duly represented by Mr. Akiah Humphrey in the Delta State House of Assembly from January 1992 to November, 199...

College of Education Agbor, Embarks On Indefinite Strike Over Alleged Deduction Of Salaries By Okowa.

The Non Academic staff of the  College of Education Agbor, has began a strike action over what they referred to as Okowa's inordinate deduction of their workers salaries, undue staff migration, among others. Speaking with FLAGNEWS NIGERIA correspondent in Agbor, a non academic staff of the institution said,                   Governor Okowa of Delta state. " We have decided to embark on strike because Okowa has no conscience. Okowa is not being fair to us and other civil servants in Delta state. Can you imagine,  He is deducting between 4000 to 9000 from our salaries every month for a program he called Health Welfare Scheme and we  dont even know anything about the scheme neither have we benefited from it".
